Wet Flies

“Wet flies” in the broad sense refer to all flies used below the water surface, including nymphs and streamers. The archive of wet flies here primarily includes specific underwater fly hooks other than nymphs and streamers.

After a wet fly is cast into the water, it generally requires slow retrieval of the line, which can be combined with gently pulling back the main line or swaying the rod tip from side to side. This technique allows the wet fly to mimic the natural state of an insect struggling or drifting with the current.
