Jigheads

A jighead is a weighted fishing hook with a lead or tungsten head molded onto it, designed to create a darting, sinking action that attracts fish. It’s typically paired with soft plastic trailers.
For creek fishing, prioritize stealth and snag resistance. Choose smaller, lighter jigheads (1/16 to 1/8 oz) to achieve a natural, slower presentation in shallow, moving water. A streamlined bullet or round head is ideal for navigating rocky bottoms and wood cover without snagging. Opt for subtle colors to match the forage base in clear water. Finally, ensure a sharp, fine-wire hook to effectively hook smaller, wary species like trout and panfish.
